Drones For Travelling

The Ehang184 is an electric drone manufactured by a Chinese company called Ehang, founded in 2013. The drone can carry one 220lb person to a height of 11,500 feet. Its maximum speed is 63 mph and can stay aloft for 23 minutes at sea level. The 184’s battery pack takes around four hours to recharge. The 184’s body is composed of a fibre-epoxy composite, the frame and arms are made from aluminium alloy.

It drives itself so there’s no need for a pilot. All you have to do is to enter the destination and follow by “Take off” and “Land.” which are the only two commands for the drone. To input the destination, there’s a 12-inch touch screen located in front of the seat, then drone’s computer would calculate the quickest and safest route.

The drone has no in-flight controls means in the event of an emergency. The company would use a remote control center to land the electric drone safely.

It’s safer than helicopters because the number of propellers it has. Even if three of the four arms have their propellers disabled, propellers on the remaining arm can ensure a safe if somewhat rough landing by spiraling down to the ground.

Ehang intends to start selling the drone later in 2016. So get ready!
